How to Keep Google Bard From Spying on You

To stop Google Bard from storing your data and location, you can:

  • Turn off Bard Activity. This will prevent Bard from autosaving your prompts and deleting past interactions.
  • Delete interactions manually. This will remove the interactions from your Bard Activity, but it may take some time for them to be deleted from Google servers.
  • Avoid sharing Bard links. If you share a Bard link, it may be indexed by Google Search and made publicly accessible.
  • Opt out of precise location sharing. This will prevent Bard from knowing your exact location.

However, even if you take all of these steps, Bard will still know your approximate location based on your IP address. Google also uses your location data to train Bard and improve its accuracy.

It is important to note that Google’s privacy policy allows the company to collect and use your data for a variety of purposes, including training and improving its AI products. If you are concerned about your privacy, you should carefully review Google’s privacy policy and consider using other AI chatbots that offer more privacy-friendly features.
